Easter at the River

To celebrate Easter the members of the Deaf church spent the day at the river.  There was a sweet time of worship, dramas, and communion followed by a message about Jesus being the “firstborn of many” and that we were the “many” and the opportunities we had in that!  The rest of the afternoon was filled with banana soda, plantain chips, water volleyball and a fun time with some of our favorite people!  All in all a great day remembering and celebrating the resurrection of our Lord!

He is Risen! (drama)

Communion and a sweet time to pray for each person

“For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,  and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. ” Colossians 1:19-20

Minute to Win It & Jesus’ Resurrection

…two things that you normally don’t think go together but they did at our most recent mini-camp last week!

The older deaf students came over to the mission house for some fun and learning.

There were an equal number of boys and girls so it was a day of battle of the sexes. The favorite of the games were 2 “Minute to Win It” style games that we made into relays.

“Face the Cookie”

The kids also got to see a beautiful drama of Jesus’ death and resurrection performed by Daniel and the deaf leaders (Nancy, Amanda, Orlan).  It lead to some good discussion afterwards during the craft.  It was perfect timing for Semana Santa (Holy Week).  It is something that is widely celebrated here with days off from school and work but none of them could tell me why the week before.

A great day with great kids that we continue to pray will impact His kingdom in BIG ways!
