During a week long training in June, we took a group of Honduran teachers on a scouting trip to find deaf in an area we planned on starting a new program. We found 6 deaf in the area and we barely covered many of the nearby villages!
Then, in July we had the first program in their area! This was the first time many of them had ever met another deaf person like themselves!
This group varies greatly in age and ability. Here our newest Honduran missionary Zenia, is helping 2 of the new deaf learn some of their first signs ever!
You don’t have to know sign language to know that Orlan is funny!
The first time we met Edwin he wasn’t about to be caught smiling at anyone. We made it our mission to get him to smile at his first program. Mission accomplished!
We found Wilson almost a year ago, but his house was too far from our other programs so we were only able to see him sparatically during home visits. We are so excited that he will get to come and learn every month now!
LOVE! Wilson was thrilled to get to ride in the van. He pointed at everything living and non-living as we drove past wanting to know the sign for each thing!
