October 2015

Left going clockwise: 1) We took a trip to a village near one of our programs to knock door to door looking for deaf people. The rain didn’t stop our team from finding 9 new deaf! 2) We took a staff retreat to the largest lake in Honduras to remember God’s faithfulness over the past year and to ask for more of God in the coming year. 3) On our “egg hunting” trip mentioned in #1 we found this precious little 4 year old. It was so fun to see her watching the other deaf that already know sign and wave her little hands in the air babbling to them. She was fascinated with anything communicated visually including this “See Spot” book! 4) We have had a missionary that lives about 7 hours away visiting us the past 3 weeks. He is looking to start a deaf ministry in his part of the country and came to learn sign language and how to do deaf ministry in the deaf. We are excited to see how God uses him to share the gospel with the Deaf in Honduras! We also have a volunteer that graduated from Baylor this year here for 6 weeks teaching a curriculum to the deaf on what it means to find our identity in Christ!

Last Mini-Camp

We finished strong with the last mini-camp of 2015! God was so faithful through each one and many seeds were planted for Kingdom growth! Thank you to each of you who supported these camps through personal service, prayerfully, and financially!

A little rain didn’t stop our team on a recent trip knocking door to door to find deaf people! We invited them to an existing program in a nearby village the following day. For some it was the first time they had ever met another deaf person! The “oldies” in the program took great pride in giving sign names to the “newbies” and helping them understand the Bible story!

“Joy worth having”

“If a thing is free to be good it is also free to be bad. And free will is what has made evil possible. Why then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having.” -C.S. Lewis
